Tolo News: The Ministry of Education on Saturday said that there is a need for at least 50,000 new teachers for the country’s schools as the current number of instructors is not sufficient. Afghanistan’s schools have at least 220,000 teachers for 9.7 million students across the country.
Tolo News: The Ministry of Public Health on Saturday reported 16 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,292 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The ministry reported that the cumulative total of known COVID-19 cases is 57160, the total number of reported deaths is 2,521, and the total number of recoveries is 51,956.

Tolo News: Members of Baloch community at a rally in Kabul on Friday asked the government to consider a role for them in the peace process and ensure their basic rights as a citizen. Some Baloch elders at the event said the community has had no role in war over the past four decades, adding that they can play a positive role in peace in the country. 
1TV: Afghanistan will play friendly football matches against Indonesia and Singapore next month in Dubai, Afghanistan Football Federation announced Thursday. The match against Indonesia will be played on 25 May while that against Singapore will be on 29 May.
