Ariana: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday called on the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) to hand over leaders of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other members of the group. At a press conference in Lahore, Naqvi said the attack, in which five Chinese engineers and their Pakistani driver were killed, was planned in Afghanistan and executed with the help of handlers and facilitators based in Pakistan. Afghanistan International: Keramuddin Keram, the former head of Afghanistan’s Football Federation, found guilty of sexual assault by the previous government’s prosecutor’s office, has met the Taliban’s governor in Panjshir. Previously accused of sexually assaulting girls in his office, he fled to Panjshir during the tenure of the former government. Unable to be apprehended by the forces of the previous government, Keram has now resurfaced, openly praising the work of the Taliban governor. The meeting also included former Finance Minister Omar Zakhilwal. Ariana: Afghanistan’ national futsal team has been placed in Group C of the 2024 World Cup along with Argentina, Ukraine, and Angola. It happened following the draw of the 10th edition of the Futsal World Cup 2024 on Sunday in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The 2024 Futsal World Cup will begin in mid-September with the participation of 24 teams. This is the first time that Afghanistan have qualified for futsal world cup. Flooding from heavy rainfall swept through a remote village in northeast Afghanistan, killing 10 members of a single family. Local Taliban officials in Badakhshan Province told RFE/RL’s Radio Azadi that four bodies had been recovered, and rescuers were searching for more after the May 26 flooding overnight. Mohammad Akram Akbari, the head of the provincial Anti-Disaster Department said a number of villages were hit by the flooding. In Baghlan, about 300 kilometers north of Kabul, Taliban officials said that 40 houses had been destroyed by flooding. The impoverished country has suffered a series of catastrophic floods this year.

Khaama: In its latest report, the United Nations has examined the devastating consequences of the ban on girls’ education, revealing that these prohibitions and other restrictions have affected all aspects of the lives of women and girls in Afghanistan. The report, published on Saturday, May 25, on the UN Women website, shows that following the imposition of restrictions on the freedoms of women and girls, particularly the ban on girls’ education, what is termed “forced marriage” has increased by 25%.
