8am: The residents of Khwaja Omari district of Ghazni province have confirmed that a drone is patrolling this district. The residents have raised a great deal of concern over the patrolling of suspicious drones in Afghanistan airspace, adding it is a sign of the Taliban’s weakness and inability to control the country’s air sovereignty. 8am: Local sources in Samangan province have confirmed that the Taliban rebels have arrested their Uzbek commander named Mullah Jandullah. He is accused of helping the National Resistance Front in the province.
Ariana: The United States is giving Ukraine 16 Mi-17 helicopters that Washington had procured for the former Afghanistan government, a US watchdog agency said Wednesday. This comes after Uzbekistan authorities said last week that dozens of aircraft flown into their country in August last year, during the collapse of the former government, belong to the United States and that these aircraft will not be returned to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) government.

8am: As a result of fierce clashes in the valley of Andarab in Baghlan province between the Taliban and National Resistance Front forces, an NRF commander named Shokrullah Andarabi is killed, local sources have reported. The clashes took place in the Kasa Tarash village of Andarab on Tuesday night, May 3, sources told Hasht-e Subh. 

Tolo News: The head of the provincial department of health, Najibulah Tawana, said they are unable to treat the disease. “We lost ten innocent children. The main way to treat the thalassemia patients … is impossible in Afghanistan,” he said. According to him, previously patients suffering from the disease were taken to Germany and Iran. Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder that causes the body to have less hemoglobin than normal.
