Clashes over Gold Mine in Badakhshan’s Shahri Buzurg District Leave Casualties

8am: Local sources in Badakhshan province say that clashes over control of a gold mine in the Shahri Buzurg district have resulted in casualties. Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Monday, October 27, that the fighting broke out between forces loyal to Emar, a local Taliban commander in Shahri Buzurg, and the group’s director of mines. Afghanistan Women’s Football Team in Exile Takes the Field for First Match in FIFA Tournament

8am: The Afghanistan women’s football team in exile lost their first match on Sunday in the tournament (FIFA Unites: Women’s Series), hosted by FIFA in Morocco, with a score of six to one against Chad. Reuters reported on Monday, October 27, that for the players who had been deprived of playing for years following the Taliban’s ban on women’s sports, being present on the field itself meant a victory. According to the sources, the draft proposal emphasises the “non-violation of Afghanistan’s territory and airspace” and includes a commitment to prevent the use of Pakistani soil by Taliban opponents. Internal Taliban Disputes in Badakhshan Lead to Arrest of Group Member

8am: According to the sources, the arrest took place after recent tensions and clashes between Pashtun and Uzbek Taliban fighters in the district. They added that Karimi was detained for allegedly mocking Tajik members of the Taliban. Former Afghan security officer killed in Takhar, sources say

Amu: The victim, identified as Kamin Jan, previously served as a bodyguard to Gen. Daoud Daoud, the former commander of the 303 Pamir Regional Zone in northern Afghanistan under the previous government. The sources said Jan was killed on Saturday in an armed attack by unidentified gunmen in the Chashma-e-Garmak area of Farkhar district. Afghanistan to send 69 athletes to Islamic Solidarity Games 2025 in Riyadh
