Floods in Zabul province leave 10 dead

Ariana: Devastating floods that swept through a number of districts in Zabul province on Sunday night have left at least ten people dead, officials confirmed Monday. According to Zabihullah Jawohar, Zabul Police Command spokesman, heavy rain caused the floods in the city of Qalat and districts in the province. Iranian Human Rights Group Warns of Escalating Racism Against Afghan Migrants

Afghanistan International: The Iranian human rights organisation Hengaw has issued a warning about the increasing levels of government and social racism directed at Afghan migrants in Iran, describing the situation as “catastrophic”. In a statement released on Monday, Hengaw noted a significant rise in anti-Afghan racism within the country, both at the governmental and social levels. The organisation labelled the deportation of Afghan migrants and the imposition of residency restrictions as “apartheid,” urging both Iranian and international human rights and civil society organisations to address this issue. The organisation also reported that at least 25 Afghan prisoners have been executed in Iranian prisons over the past seven months. Ariana: A senior Iranian diplomat said on Sunday that in urging the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan, Tehran did not mean this to be a coalition or power-sharing administration. Taliban Wants Cash To Settle Land Dispute; Threaten Eviction of Hazaras, If Unpaid

Afghanistan International: Sources from the Hazara community in Uruzgan province reported that under Taliban pressure, they have paid 15 million of the 30 million Afghanis demanded by the group members for settling a land dispute with Pashtuns. Residents of Gizab district stated that the Taliban have warned them to pay the remaining 15 million Afghanis within two months or face forced eviction from the area. Afghan Judoka at Paris Olympics suspended after failing doping test

Ariana: Mohammad Samim Faizad, a judoka from Afghanistan at the Paris Olympics, was provisionally suspended on Friday after failing a doping test for a banned steroid.
