Ariana: According to the report German authorities informed more than 660 Afghans in December 2025 that despite earlier assurances of resettlement, Germany would no longer be able to admit them. Amu: Sweden’s migration minister on Thursday called on the European Union to develop a common procedure to issue identity and travel documents for Afghan nationals whose asylum applications have been rejected or who have committed crimes, saying deportations are currently “more or less impossible”. Migration Minister Johan Forssell said many Afghan nationals in Sweden and other EU states lack valid identification or travel documents, making it difficult to return them to Afghanistan.
Amu: Heavy snow and rain have killed at least 12 people and injured five others across seven provinces in Afghanistan, the Taliban-run disaster management authority said on Friday. The National Disaster Preparedness Authority said the fatalities were reported in Parwan, Nangarhar, Bamyan, Maidan Wardak, Kandahar, Jawzjan and Faryab provinces following severe weather in the past 24 hours.
Afghanistan International: According to a document obtained by Afghanistan International, the Taliban’s Council of Clerics in Badakhshan has offered financial rewards and security guarantees to Ismaili Muslims who convert to Sunni Islam. Sources say conversions are being enforced through threats and intimidation. The document shows that the Taliban clerics’ council in Badakhshan has drawn up formal guidelines aimed at supporting and encouraging the conversion of Ismailis to Sunni Islam.
Ariana: Afghanistan’s national cricket team suffered a narrow 15-run defeat in the third and final T20 International, but victories in the opening two matches ensured a 2–1 series win over West Indies in the e& Cup T20I series. Despite the final-match setback, the series concluded in Afghanistan’s favour, marking a successful campaign as the team now turns its focus to preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
