
Khaama: An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 rocked 98 Km southeast of Faizabad Badakhshan province, and the tremors were felt in Kabul, on Monday, at 10:43 am local time. No causalities have been reported so far; further details are awaited. This is the second earthquake within 10 hours; the first earthquake occurred with a magnitude of 4.0, 69 Km east of Faizabad, Badakhshan province of Afghanistan, on Monday. 8am: According to reliable local sources, these female teachers, affiliated with Darul Uloom Ettefaq, located in the center of Bamiyan, were beaten by the Taliban on Monday, May 22. These teachers, named Zahra Haydari and Sharifa Rustami, had gone to welcome Habibulla Aghaz, the acting minister of education of the Taliban, who had traveled to Bamiyan. Apparently, after the beating, the Taliban took these two female teachers with them to their security command in Bamiyan.
Ariana: Afghanistan defeated Turkmenistan 2-1 in their first match of the 2023 CAFA U-20 Championship on Sunday. The match was held at CSKA Stadium in Tajikistan capital Dushanbe. Afghanistan will meet hosts Tajikistan in their next match of the tournament on Monday.
8am: In the last month of the solar year (April/May 2023), the Taliban killed 13 former military personnel through various means. They also detained 29 individuals from different parts of the country, including military personnel, a civil activist, a poet, 15 tribal elders, a mayor, a private clinic director, a journalist, and a taxi driver. During this same period, the Taliban targeted and killed two former military personnel and two civilians. Two additional individuals lost their lives under the torture of this group, while four were shot and killed by Taliban fighters during a public gathering in Badakhshan province.
8am: Several farmers in Khost reported on Sunday, May 21, that the Taliban has informed them in the province’s center and districts that they are not allowed to use machinery for wheat harvesting. According to the farmers, this action by the Taliban has resulted in a prolonged process of wheat collection from the fields.
Khaama: A British man is charging £4,000 per person for dangerous tours to the Taliban’s heartland in southern Kandahar and Helmand provinces through is company Safarat Tours, according to Daily Mail. Despite the British government’s advice against all travel to Afghanistan, Joe Sheffer is offering tourist holidays to the war-torn country. 
8am: The Taliban, who now control the Logar Directorate of Education, have recently converted a girls’ high school building in the Mohammad Agha district of the province into a religious school. They view this Taliban move as the initial official step towards eliminating girls’ schools in Logar province.
