8am: On the evening of Monday, November 27, the Freedom Front announced in a newsletter that it orchestrated an attack on the Taliban along the Kabul Airport Road in the ninth security district of Kabul. The assault resulted in the death of two Taliban fighters and the injury of two others. Over the past three days, the Freedom Front has claimed responsibility for at least six attacks on the Taliban, spanning the provinces of Parwan, Kapisa, Kabul, and Laghman. Notably, last night, the Taliban acknowledged only one of the attacks by the Freedom Front on their positions. They reported that unidentified individuals caused a non-lethal incident by throwing a hand grenade into a water reservoir belonging to their forces.
Ariana: The Ministry of Public Health said on Monday that in cooperation with its international partners, a polio vaccination campaign is underway in 21 provinces in Afghanistan. According to the Ministry of Health, 7.8 million children under the age of five will be vaccinated against the polio virus during the four-day campaign – which runs from Monday, November 27 to December 1. The campaign will however run for a week in Nangarhar province.
8am: On Sunday, November 26, the Freedom Front of Afghanistan stated in a press release that, in a recent operation against Qari Hemat, the security director of the Taliban in the Dawlat Shah district of Laghman province, two of his guards were killed. The Front added that Qari Hemat was injured in this attack and has been transferred to Kabul for treatment.
