Ariana: Kuwait defeated Afghanistan national futsal team 4-3 in their continental five-a-side tournament match on Tuesday afternoon in Bangkok, Thailand. This was the second match for Afghanistan in the tournament. The team will next face New Zealand on Wednesday. Thailand is currently hosting the continental five-a-side tournament, involving teams from Afghanistan, the host Thailand, Guatemala, New Zealand, and Kuwait.
Ariana: A suicide bombing took place in capital Kabul on Monday, killing six civilians and wounding 13 others, police said. The blast happened in Qala-e-Bakhtiar area in PD 6 of the city. Khalid Zadran, city’s police spokesman, said that one woman was also among those killed.
8am: Following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, girls and women in the country, particularly in Badakhshan province, are experiencing the harsh reality of not being able to attend school or university and the violence perpetrated by the group. These factors have led to an increase in forced marriages and mental health issues among girls and women. Several girls in Badakhshan report that their economic problems are worsening daily. According to them, many families in the province are compelled to accept forced marriages for their daughters due to financial hardships.
Tolo News: Doctors at the Bamyan Provincial Hospital report that the number of children suffering from malnutrition in this province is on the rise. According to statistics, more than 160 children suffering from malnutrition have been treated at this hospital in the last three months. Poor economic conditions of families, premature birth of children, lack of proper nutrition for mothers during pregnancy, and non-adherence to hygiene practices are cited as the main causes of the increase in malnutrition among children.
