ACB to award contracts to 25 female national team cricketers
Ariana: The Afghan Cricket Board (ACB) held a successful training camp over the past few weeks for 40 female cricketers in order to select a new national women’s team. In a statement published on ACB’s website, the board said 25 women will be selected and awarded contracts as national team members. The board stated that the training camp was held in accordance with “Islamic and traditional Afghan values” and wrapped up on Thursday. Click here to read more (external link).
121 New Cases of COVID-19, 6 Deaths Reported in Afghanistan
Tolo News: The Ministry of Public Health on Thursday reported 121 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 356samples tested in the last 24 hours. According to the Public Health Ministry’s data, the cumulative number of total cases is now 41,935, the number of total reported deaths is 1,554, and the total number of recoveries is 34,440. Watchdog: Number Of Attacks Rising In Afghanistan Despite Peace Deal

DBA: The daily average of attacks carried out in Afghanistan during the past three months was 50 percent higher than in the second quarter of this year, a U.S. watchdog said in a report published on November 3. Meanwhile, Afghan forces conducted 1,111 ground operations in the past three months, more than double the number conducted in the same period last year, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) said. “The Taliban is calibrating its use of violence to harass and undermine [the Afghan government and security forces], but remain at a level it perceives is within the bounds of the [U.S.-Taliban] agreement,” SIGAR cited the U.S. Department of Defense as saying.
