The Wolesi Jirga or Lower House of Parliament urges insight into the resignation of Rahmatullah Nabil from the National Directorate of Security (NDS).
MP Abdul Rahim Ayoubi says it has to be clarified whether Nabil resigned based on President’s decision, his own decision Pakistan’s demand.
Talking to the session on Saturday, Ayoubi said he has information that chief of Pakistan’s spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) had made the demand of the removal of Nabil from NDS during a visit to Kabul.
Ayoubi added that Rahmatullah Nabil received vote of confidence from parliament to head the NDS but it appears that parliament’s vote is not respected.
MP Haji Abdul Zahir Qadir also raised concern over Nabil’s resignation during the session. He said that the cause of Nabil’s resignation must be questioned to find out whether he was forced to resign or another reason was behind it.
Meanwhile, another member of parliament urged President Ghani to put an end to the stories of acting chiefs.
Ghulam Farooq said President needs to introduce nominees for the Ministry of Defense and the National Directorate of Security (NDS) as soon as possible.
