Tolo News: The Presidential Palace has said the aim of this is to bring reforms and to make way for younger officers to move up the ranks. Senate defense commission head Hashim Alokozay however said the move to pension off experienced military personnel comes at a bad time, given the fragility of the security situation in the country. “As Afghanistan is at war, I don’t believe that losing experienced generals be to the benefit of the country’s security,” said Alokozay.
