8am: Local sources in Herat have confirmed the death of a Taliban fighter in the province. According to reports received on Wednesday, January 31st, the Taliban member was gunned down in the Golran district of Herat. This development follows recent clashes in the province. Two nights ago, skirmishes erupted between Taliban insurgents and unidentified assailants, resulting in the death of one Taliban operative and injuries to four civilians.
