But their pastoral existence was shattered when fighting between the Taliban and the Afghan National Army placed the community squarely in the line of fire.
8am: One person was killed and 14 others were injured in an explosion at the Qala-e-Naw mosque in Badghis province, security sources confirm. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
