Badakhshan: Twenty-one Taliban fighters have been captured in Tishkan district, Afghan security officials said today.
Badghis: An insider attack in Qadis district left 4 policemen dead, according to government officials. The attackers were 9 fellow policemen who, after shooting their fellow officers, took their weapons, abandoning their check post.
Helmand: Atamir Agah, a senior commander in Afghanistan’s National Army was killed, and three soldiers were wounded when their vehicle struck an IED (improvised explosive device) last night in Grishk district, official announced today.
Kabul: Seven members of the Haqqani Network were arrested in Kabul City by NDS (National Directorate of Security). Officials said that the 7 men were charged with planning terrorists attacks in the city. Explosives, remote controls, and other weapons were recovered from their hideout. Also a bombing of a police station in West Kabul yesterday has killed 20 people and 29 have been reported injured. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident, according to government officials.
Kunar: A suicide bomber wearing women’s clothes was stopped and arrested by Afghan police in Narang district, the provincial governor, Wahidullah Kalimzai said today. The local police said that he confessed his plans.
Kunduz: Taliban announced today that they ambushed a convoy of government soldiers in the Ali Abad district. According to the Taliban, after an hour long fire-fight, 3 soldiers were killed and a tank was destroyed.
Logar: Afghan police said they arrested 4 people who were allegedly involved in committing robberies and murders. The men were caught on the outskirts of Pol-e Alam, the capital of Logar province.
Laghman: 12 civilians were reported killed when a magnetic bomb exploded in the capital city of Mehterlam yesterday afternoon. Officials said that the target was the Afghan police, however, all the victims were civilians (9 men, 1 woman and 2 kids). The Taliban faction loyal to Mullah Mansur reported planting a roadside bomb and that it struck a government vehicle. They also said they killed a government soldier near a military based in the Alishang district. They admitted a child was killed, but blamed it on government soldiers returning fire.
Nangarhar: A combined NATO-US-Afghan attack in Achin district has killed up to 29 militants, according to government officials. A radio station belonging to DAESH has also been reported to be destroyed.
Paktika: A drone attack in Gomal district last night has killed 17 Taliban fighters and a vehicle, local officials said today.
Uruzgan: A 14-year-old boy (Wasil Ahmad) made famous for his declared fight against the Taliban was gunned down while shopping in Tirinkot, Afghan officials said today. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. Also, as a result of a Taliban attack in the Achkizai area, one ANA (Afghan National Army) soldier and 2 policemen were killed. Another 3 policemen were wounded, according to government officials.
