Afghan Ski Challenge Tournament Ends In Bamiyan

Tolo News: Masuma Hassani has won the fifth round of Afghan Ski Challenge Tournament for girls which has ended in Bamiyan province. Afghan Skiers Eye 2018 Olympics After World Championship

Tolo News: Skiers Alishah Farhang and Sajjad Husaini, who represented Afghanistan at the World Championship in St. Moritz, Switzerland, said they hope to become the first Afghan athletes at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea. Afghanistan joins International Ski Federation

1TV: For the first time in its history, Afghanistan has been approved as an Associate Member of International Ski Federation. The approval came following the 50th International Ski Congress in Cancun of Mexico from 6th to 10th June that was attended by more than 900 participants from the global ski family, the federation announced in a statement.

The race to bring Afghanistan to the Winter Olympics

Alishah Farhang, a sheep herder, and Sajjad Husaini, an electrician, are aiming for the 2018 Olympic Games in South Korea, where they would be the first Afghans to ski in the Olympics.
