Helmand – Afghan officials say that Taliban militants gunned down 4 de-miners in Gerishk district.
Nangarhar – Seven members of DAESH were arrested by provincial police after raids were made in Achin, Kot and Rodat districts. Also, officials said that a drone attack by the US military killed 5 militants, including Taliban commander Qari Hidayatullah in Achin district
Maidan Wardak: Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) says that they have seized an arms cache belonging to the Taliban in Jalriz district. According to officials, the militants were planning to use them to target vehicles on the Kabul-Ghazni highway.
Jowzjan: At least 10 Taliban militants were killed and 7 were wounded during a clearing operation in Aqcha district. Afghan police said that a Taliban rocket attack had killed a woman, and injuried two others including a child. Taliban sources said that only 3 of their members were injured and that 4 Afghan security personnel were killed. Afghan officials say that security forces had no casualities.
Kunar: A convoy of vehicles carrying government officials, including provincial governor Wahidullah Kalimzai were attacked in Manogi district. No causalities or injuries were reported.
Meanwhile Taliban militants claim attacks in the provinces of Farah (Farahrod district), Baghdis (Ghormach district), Kandahar (Arghistan district), and Faryab (Almar district). The attacks by the Taliban militants could not be confirmed.
