Security forces have arrested 11 members of Jundallah Takfiri terrorist group in Afghanistan’s northern province of Kunduz.

In a Wednesday statement, Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) announced that 11 members of the Jundallah terrorist group have been detained during a raid in the Khan Abad district of Kunduz.

The statement added that a terrorist had been killed during the operation, without giving details about the date of the security action.

Various weapons and ammunition were confiscated from the group, according to the statement.

Afghanistan is rife with insecurity years after the US and its NATO allies invaded the Asian country as part of Washington’s so-called war on terror.

Jundallah, a Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) splinter group, announced in November 2014 that it had pledged allegiance to Daesh Takfiri terrorist outfit, which is mainly operating in Syria and Iraq.

Jundallah has launched numerous attacks on religious groups, especially Shia Muslims. A bomb attack by the terror group on a Shia mosque in the Shakarpur district of Pakistan’s Sindh Province killed at least 60 people on January 30.
