Leading a high-level government delegation, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah has arrived in China for Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit opened on Monday in Zhengzhou City of Henan province.
CEO Abdullah Abdullah will brief participants of the meeting on the recent developments in Afghanistan. He will also discuss the political and economic cooperation of the SCO member countries with Afghanistan.
On the sideline of the meeting, the CEO is expected to talk to Chinese officials about the peace and reconciliation process of government with Taliban and strengthening relations between the two countries.
China is one of the stakeholders of the peace and reconciliation process between Afghan government and Taliban.
It played the role of an observer besides the United States in the first round of peace talks in July, in Murree resort city of Pakistan.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has agreed with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mohammad Sharif to revive the stalled talks.
