Study Finds Toxic Substances In Kabul Water

Tolo News: The study entitled Psycho-physical Effects of Environmental Pollution on the Health of Kabul Citizens, shows that at least 10 percent of water in 22 districts of Kabul is contaminated with nitrate substances, which according to the study, it can cause kidney damage and other ailments. Groundwater levels declining by meters in Kabul

1TV: Groundwater levels have declined in Afghan capital Kabul by meters, officials said Monday. Mohammad Naeem Tokhi, the director of hydrology department at Ministry of Energy and Water, said that the rate of decline in groundwater levels is between 1 and 22 meters. Apart from quantity, the quality of ground water in the city is also deteriorating.
