Afghanistan U-19s defeat Zimbabwe U-19s by 159 runs, wins series 4-0

The Afghanistan Under-19 national cricket team defeated Zimbabwe Under-19 cricket team by 159 runs during the 4th and final match of Zimbabwe Under-19s tour of India series.

Played in Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground in India, the Afghan U-19s clean-washed Zimbabwe U-19s and claimed the series 4-0 with today’s win.

The Afghan U-19s set a target of 268 runs by losing all wickets after Zimbabwe U-19s won the toss and elected to field first.

Opener batsman Naveed Obaid helped the Afghan U-19s to set the target together with Sayed Wahedullah and Ihsanullah in the middle order.

Naveed Obaid 62 runs from 86 balls and by hitting 4 Fours and 4 Sixes, Waheedullah scored 51 runs and Ihsanullah socred 51 runs.

The contribution by the other batsmen included 37 runs by Tariq, 21 runs by Hazratullah, 9 runs by Ahmad Qais, 6 runs by Mohammad Zahir and 13 runs by Zahir Khan.

The Zimbabwe U-19s could not chase the given target and were all out after scoring 108 runs with 218 balls remaining.

Zahir Khan together with Nijat Masood took 4 wickets each with Mohammad Zahir taking 2 wickets to restrict the Zimbabwe U-19s after scoring 108 runs.

The Afghan U-19s defeated Zimbabwe U-19s by 5 wickets in the first match of the series on 13th December, the second win was recorded on 15th December after Afghan U-19s defeated Zimbabwe U-19s by 45 runs, the third match was won by by 74 runs on 17th December.
