The Afghanistan Under-19 national cricket team defeated the Zimbabwe Under-19 cricket team by 45 runs during the second match of Zimbabwe Under-19s tour of India.
The match was played in Greater Noida Sports Complex in One Day International (ODI) format where Afghanistan set a target of 238 runs from 50 overs.
Zimbabwe Under-19s won the toss and elected to field first, allowing the Afghan batsmen to bat first where they lost 9 wickets after scoring 237 runs.
Ikram Faizi’s 65 (not out) in the middle order helped the Afghan batsmen to set the target of 238 runs after losing earl y opening batsmen.
Both the openers, Rahimullah Sahak and Nasir Khan, were caught out after scoring 23 runs along with Ihsanullah who also socred 23 runs.
The Zimbabwe Under-19s could not chase the given target and were all out after scoring 192 runs with 42 balls remaining.
On the bowling side, Zahir Khan took 4 wickets, Karim Janat and Rashid Khan 2 wickets each, Muslim Musa and Zia-ur-Rehman 1 wicket each to restrict the Zimbabwe batsmen.
Zahir Khan was elected as man of the match for his outstanding performance where he took 4 wickets by bowling 9 overs and giving 42 runs.
