Afghan MMA fighter Siyar Bahadurzada: “This week, I had wrestling for breakfast, lunch and dinner! You can achieve the impossible with the mindset of a winner!”

AOPNEWS | January 8, 2016

An athlete becomes great in his sport if he pays close attention to his weaknesses and continuously works to improve on them. A true champion takes a weakness and turns it into a strength. That’s what it look like Afghan MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter Siyar “The Great” Bahadurzada is doing while in training camp as he prepares for his next UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) Fight against American fighter Brandon “Rukus” Thatch.

Bahadurzada posted the following message on his Facebook page today: “This week, I had wrestling for breakfast, lunch and dinner! You can achieve the impossible with the mindset of a winner!”

While Bahadurzada used his outstanding striking abilities to easily win his first fight in the UFC, his grappling weakness was used against him by his next two opponents and therefore, lost 2 matches in a row via decision.

Bahadurzada’s announcement that he is working hard on his wrestling is very good news for his fans who want him to be successful in the UFC, the biggest MMA promotion company in the world. Many would love to see him get a shot at the welterweight title, or even perhaps become Afghanistan’s first ever UFC champion.

Bahadurzada is scheduled to fight Thatch on February 21st as part of UFC Fight Night 82 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
