The prominent Mixed Martial Art (MMA) fighter of Afghanistan Baz Mohammad Mubariz will appear in his next fight in Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB) later this month, wearing the Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum’s uniform which he wears during the military operations.
Gen. Dostum awarded his military uniform to Mubariz during a meeting with him, in an apparent move to boost his moral as he is facing his Russian opponent on 28th November.
This will be the first fight of the “Striking Eagles” fighting contest winner in the ACB octagon.
According to a statement by ACB, Mubariz, who placed first in the contest on finding the talented fighters held by the ACB league, will participate at the ACB 26 “Grand Prix” tournament.
“Baz Mohammad is the first fighter representing Afghanistan at our tournaments. His record includes 5 wins and 3 losses. This year Mubariz had just one bout and successfully finished it by submission in the beginning of the second round,” the statement said.
It also added “On November 28 he is to fight against the “Berkut” club’s prospect Rasul Ediev (5-2, Russia) in Grozny.”
Mubariz received 7,516 votes during the contest which was held for a period of two weeks in the month of October. was selected among the 30 fighters of the world by ACB during the initial phases of the contest where 450 fighters from different countries participated.
ACB had earlier announced that three fighters who receives the most votes will sign a contract with ACB League where two fighters on the jury’s choice will fight at Absolute Championship Berkut international tournaments.
