Health Authorities Warn Public Of Congo Fever Risk Over Eid

healthTolo News: Health  and livestock authorities issued a warning to the public on Wednesday to take special preventive measures to protect themselves against a deadly viral disease called Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) in Afghanistan. In a press release issued by authorities, they said CCHF viral disease is primarily transmitted to people from ticks or through contact with infected animal blood or tissues during and immediately after slaughter. This is of particular concern over Eid-al-Adha as hundreds of thousands of people will be slaughtering animals and the risk of CCHF virus transmission is expected to increase.
