Taliban commander among 4 killed in N. Afghanistan

kunduzKUNDUZ, Afghanistan, June 23 (Xinhua) — Four Taliban militants including a group commander were killed as security forces laid ambush in Imam Sahib district of the northern Kunduz province on Thursday, district governor Amanudin Qurishi said.

“Acting on tip-off the security forces organized ambush on a way used by Taliban rebels Thursday morning killing commander Mullah Abdul Rahim nickname Abas along with three of his armed companions,” Qurishi told Xinhua.

Taliban militants who are active in parts of Kunduz province haven’t commented.
