The National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s intelligence agency has arrested a Tajikistan national in connection with the affiliates of the Islamic State (IS) or Daesh in northeastern Takhar province.
A statement released by NDS on Thursday states that Nasratullah “Gainja Youf” S/O Sharifullah a resident of Dushanbe city of Tajikistan was recruited by Daesh through internet.
“He had arrived to Afghanistan through Iran for military training and joining Daesh group,” the statement adds. “He wanted to get to Dasht-e-Arche District of Kundoz province through Khwaja Ghar District of Takhar province and participate in terrorist activities.”
A footage release by NDS shows a young boy speaking Tajikistani accent of Farsi languages who says that he was working in Russia when got in touch with leader of Daesh in Afghanistan and the contact was in place for one month before he received an invitation to come to Afghanistan for “Jihad”.
Nasratullah further says when he asked the leader of Daesh for money for coming to Afghanistan, he received 20,000 Rubles to his account with the name of Alexander.
He said after receiving the money he went to Iran through Azerbaijan and flew into Afghanistan after staying there for some times.
After arriving in Afghanistan, Nasratullah got in touch with his contacts through the numbers he was given.
He was in Takhar province and getting ready to cross into Dasht-i-Arche District of Kundoz province when NDS detained him.
In a separate raid, NDS has arrested three members of Taliban group in the jurisdiction of Takhar province.
NDS press release identifies them as Abdul Qayoum alias Mujahid S/O Saifullah, Nasrat alias Qari Sardar S/O Gul Nabi and Mohammad Sadiq S/O Gul Jan who participated in terrorist activities in Chahar Dara District of Kundoz province.
