15,000 People Die Of Cancer Annually In Afghanistan

ministryofhealthTolo News: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Wednesday marked World Cancer Day where it said that cancer affects at least 20,000 people and takes the lives of 15,000 every year in Afghanistan. According to the ministry, polluted air, use of alcohol and tobacco and unhealthy food are among the main reasons behind the sharp increase in cancerous diseases in the country. “We will be able to control the spread of cancer up to 40 percent if the factors are prevented,” said Public Health Minister Ferozuddin Feroz.
