Khaama Press:  “In an Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) joint clearance operation, 40 armed militants surrendered to ANSF in Darqad district of northern Takhar province,” states a statement released by the ministry. “The operation started on 09 January 2016 and is still in progress to clear some of the areas of terrorists and enemies of peace and stability.” According to the press release, 20 militants were also killed in fresh clashes and 12 arrested.
