The real original Talibans were religious
devotees who were traditionally always undergoing training
in
Masjids and Madrassas across Afghanistan.. They were never involved as
specialized militias to raid, attack and seize territories.
The later Taliban movement ( mid 1990’s), however, actually entered into Afghanistan through Speen-Boalduck
border town into Afghanistan. From the beginning, it looked like they were planning to forcefully take over the government of
Afghanistan.
They gradual gained more momentum and were able to quickly expanded farther insider, across Afghanistan.
Obviously, the new movement for survival, at that time were getting help from various, domestic and foreign sources- directly and indirectly.
They were eventually able to wrest the political control of most parts of Afghanistan, including Kabul, City.
It was an orchestrated design ATTEMPTED to indirectLY wrest the POLITICSL control of the country- elbeit; in conjunction with traditionally-established religious institutions of Afghanistan.

The colonial powers had no controlling power over the Taliban of Afghanistan- never directly- none of them at all, even after the Soviet collapse inside Afghanistan. But; as you can easily find out they used and abused their only card, through the government of Pakistan to press for their own best option so they would, at least, have that critical clout go sway and manipulate the government of Pakistan- in case if they failed to bring the strong and independent religious movement of the whole region. for a table negotiation.
*The infusion of the “new Taliban” movement, in mid-1990’s, established a totally new phase into the
political scenes

Afghanistan- the weak alliance of the new Islamic government
of
Afghanistan; lack of proper cooperation and foolish rivalries among the major surfacing Islamic political parties and imposed anarchies across the country left Afghanistan in an extremely weak and. vulnerable position- that is how the combinations of the new Taliban movements with the mixed; but, strong back up of open, mysterious and secret internal and external devotees were able to overran villages town and even bigger cities in their
strongly-driven slogans under the name of Islam to end anarchies; crimes and destructions inside Afghanistan.
Under the
“strongest Islamic slogans possible”- that way; they were able to initially take fast roots in religiously-devoted and conservative southern Kandahar, next to borders of Pakistsn.

With their strong Islamic messages and appeals; they were then able to quickly gather more momentum and spread out towards the interior of Afghanistan and beyond
After more than two decades; we are still in the dark, about the new Taliban’s original milutary make-up; their true grand initial strategy for Afghanistan; and the level of their foreign connections and compositions, as well as, their grand geopolitical motives behind it all.
