AYBAK, Afghanistan, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) — Police have arrested a man on charge of killing two persons including his sister in the northern Samangan province, head of Provincial Council Hajji Raz Mohammad said Monday.

The deadly incident, according to the official, occurred in Samangan provincial capital of the Aybak city on Sunday night. The perpetrator named Nasrullah has been arrested.

According to police, Nasrullah has confessed to his crime, saying he has punished his sister along with her paramour over having illicit relations and adultery.

Although the government has been trying to improve women status in Afghanistan, violence against women is still rampant in the militancy-plagued country.
