Tolo News: A new report released on Wednesday by Open Society Foundations (OSF) said the U.S and allied forces’ mission in Afghanistan is undermining efforts by harming civilians. While the U.S frequently stresses it does all it can to prevent civilian casualties, the report said poorly planned air strikes, misidentified targets, unexploded ordinance and rogue partner troops have too often led to non-combatant deaths in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and elsewhere. “Tragically, this hard-won lesson is often lost, as in the disastrous U.S airstrike on an Afghan hospital that killed 42 people in October,” read the report.
