news.com.au: A mum was so desperate she had to sell her daughter for $4100, but in a cruel irony she has only received $96 and won’t see the rest for years.  Theirs is among many horrific stories from the Badghis region as families face unimaginable choices to avoid starvation.     Badghis was turned into one of a
    major
    hidden battle zone in the aftermaths
    of
    the grand invasio, 2001- the ancestors of the same locals had
    pushed back the steadfast czarist military drive into the interior
    of
    Afghanistan
    (late 1800’s).
