Today in Russia, Afghan MMA fighter Baz Mohammad Mubariz defeated Russian Amir Sattarov in 1 minute and 40 seconds of round one via submission (rear naked choke).
The lightweight (154 lbs) fight, which was part of the main card of Octagon Fighting Sensation 7: Battle of Titans, went to the ground very quickly when round one started. Mubariz was on top (full guard) pounding Sattarov, and then at around 3:40 he spun around to take Sattarov’s back, pounding him, and eventually sinking a powerful choke hold. At 3:20, Sattarov tapped out.
With this win, Mubariz improves his record to 6 wins and 4 losses. Mubariz isn’t taking much time off after his win. On May 24th, he will take on veteran Diego Gonzalez in a welterweight (170 lbs) match as part of Abu Dhabi Warriors 4, in the United Arab Emirates. Diego Gonzalez has record of 18 wins, and 11 losses.
